Darryl Patterson have dedicated more than 30 years of service to the families in the Jacksonville, Florida area. His commitment began in 1988 when Darryl Patterson became a firefighter with the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department. He served 26 years and retired as a Lieutenant in 2013. Darryl Patterson saw there was a great need for a funeral home in Jacksonville, Florida that concentrated more of the needs of the bereaving families and not a dollar. With his professionalism, training and experience supporting families in their time of need, Darryl Patterson open the funeral home 2015 providing a higher quality of service and putting the needs of the living in the forefront. We will guide you through the creation of a service that reflect the individuality of your loved one’s life journey, and will assist you in taking your first steps toward healing and recovery.

Valerie P. Glover

Valerie P. Glover is a retired employee of Aetna Life Insurance, where she dedicated over 28 years to assisting others in the healthcare field. Her decades of service instilled in her a deep compassion and understanding that naturally extend into her work in the funeral industry today.

Motivated by a passion to serve families during some of life’s most difficult moments, Valerie entered the funeral profession to provide care, comfort, and guidance to those facing loss. She believes that the compassion of a funeral director can meet families where they are in their grief and help lighten their burden. In addition to her professional role, Valerie offers a listening ear and spiritual support to those in need of emotional healing.

Valerie brings more than twenty years of experience to Patterson Cremation and Funeral Service. She holds an Associate of Arts degree from Florida State College at Jacksonville and is dually licensed as a Funeral Director and Embalmer in both Florida and Georgia. She is also a proud member of the Florida First Coast Mortician’s Association.

Valerie has faithfully served with Young Zion Baptist Church of St. Mary’s, Georgia, where her late husband, Rev. Dr. Quan DeLeon Glover, pastored. She has served as a Sunday School teacher and choir director, roles that reflect her devotion to ministry and community service.

After 28 years of marriage and 20 years in shared ministry, Valerie experienced the heartbreaking loss of her husband in April 2020 due to COVID-19. Despite this profound loss, she continues to trust God and serve others with grace and dedication each day.

Valerie is the proud mother of two children and grandmother of three grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys relaxing at home with Netflix, bowling, singing, and going to the movies. Her favorite scripture, Proverbs 3:5–6, reflects her enduring faith and continues to guide her life and work.

Roger D. Sears is a member of the professional team at Patterson Cremation and Funeral Services. He celebrated twenty years of Funeral Service in August of 2025.

Roger is licensed as a funeral director and embalmer in the States of Florida and Georgia. His approach to service is rooted in his ability to shape a celebration that reflects upon, and honors a life well lived.

Roger D. Sears is a product of the local schools of Duval County. He graduated from William M. Raines Sr. High School in the Class of 1978. He has earned degrees from Florida State College of Jacksonville, Edward Waters University, and the University of North Florida.

Roger D. Sears is a member of the First Baptist Church of Oakland, under the leadership of Dr. Christopher McKee.

Mr. Sears is also a member of Independent Funeral Directors of Florida and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Roger D. Sears is married to Sherri Sears. They are the proud parents of two sons and six grandchildren.

Raphael D. Colley

Raphael D. Colley is a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer at Patterson Cremation and Funeral Service and has worked in the death care industry for 14 years. A native of Pensacola, Florida, he is a graduate of Escambia High School, Class of 2009. He later moved to Jacksonville to pursue his dream of becoming a mortician.

Making vision a reality, he attended Florida Community College at Jacksonville where he received his A.S. Degree in Mortuary Science. Raphael is an active member of Christ Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Darrell Gilyard and also a proud member and Vice President of the Florida First Coast Mortician’s Association. In his leisure time, he enjoys fishing, hunting, cooking and spending quality time with his family and friends. Raphael is the proud father of one son, Nicolas. His favorite scripture is Habakkuk 3:19 “The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high place. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.”

Ashley Steele

Ashley Steele was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina and she was raised in Florida, Kentucky, Illinois, and in New York. She has been resident of Baker County since 2001 after moving from Gloversville, New York. After graduating from Baker County High School in 2006 she continued her education by earning an Associate of Art Degree at Lake City Community College and also earning an Associate of Science Degree at Florida Community College of Jacksonville in Mortuary Science through their Funeral Services Program. Ashley has been with Ferreira Funeral Services since 2007 and has served as a licensed funeral director since 2009. She continues to attend the Florida State College of Jacksonville Funeral Services Advisory Board meetings where she has been a longtime member.

Ashley lives in Macclenny with her 2 dogs, twin sons, Christopher James "C.J." Miller, Jr. and Grayson Steele Miller and her beautiful daughter Aubree Miller. Ashley is a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where she enjoys attending church and assisting with church events. She also enjoys baking, vacationing, traveling, and most of all, spending time with her family.

Coming from Gainesville's lively streets, Tim's life took a significant turn when he married his lifelong love Emily in 2013. Together they made their way to Starke, FL where they now build their family life with their daughter, Athena.

Tim pursued his education at Florida State College of Jacksonville, proudly earning an A.S. degree in Funeral Services. Besides his academic achievements, Tim is known for his love of nature, his resilience as a cancer survivor, and his devotion to his family. He has a deep-seated passion for assisting families during challenging times and always striving to give a lending hand.
